Refund and Returns Policy

We want you to be satisfied with every purchase. At the same time, the nature of what we sell—particularly firearms and ammunition—requires strict adherence to industry standards and legal requirements. This policy explains what can and cannot be returned, and how we handle refunds.

Firearms, Frames, and Receivers

All sales of serialized items are final.

Once a firearm, frame, or receiver has been transferred to you through an FFL dealer, it cannot be returned to Austere Outfitters. This is standard practice across the firearms industry and reflects both regulatory requirements and safety considerations.

If you discover a defect after taking possession, warranty service must be handled directly with the manufacturer. We’re happy to help you locate the appropriate contact information, but we cannot accept serialized items back or process warranty claims on your behalf.

Ammunition

Ammunition cannot be returned or exchanged.

For safety and regulatory reasons, we do not accept returns on any ammunition—opened or unopened. Please verify caliber, quantity, and compatibility before completing your purchase.

Magazines and Restricted Components

Magazines and other restricted components may be returned only if they are unopened, unused, and in original sealed packaging. Once a magazine has been opened, installed, or loaded, it cannot be returned.

If we ship a restricted item to a jurisdiction where it’s prohibited, we’ll cancel the order and issue a refund before fulfillment whenever possible.

Optics, Lights, Electronics, and Tools

These items may be returned within 15 days of delivery provided they are unused and uninstalled, in original packaging with all accessories and documentation included, and free of marks, scratches, or signs of handling.

Items that have been mounted, used, or show any wear cannot be accepted for return.

Apparel, Bags, Cleaning Gear, and General Accessories

Non-regulated accessories may be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are new and unused, in original packaging, and free of stains, odors, or damage.

A restocking fee may apply depending on the item and condition.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

Mistakes happen, and when they do, we make it right.

If you receive the wrong item or your order arrives damaged, contact us within 72 hours of delivery. Include photos of the damage or incorrect item, and we’ll arrange for a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you.

Please inspect packages at delivery when possible. Visible damage to the outer packaging should be noted with the carrier before signing.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before they ship. Once an item has left our facility or a fulfillment partner’s warehouse, it’s subject to the return policies outlined above.

Serialized items that are already in transit to an FFL cannot be cancelled or rerouted. If the transfer cannot be completed, restocking and shipping fees may apply.

Warranty Service

All warranties are issued and honored by the original manufacturer—not by Austere Outfitters. If a product fails due to a manufacturing defect, contact the manufacturer directly for repair or replacement under their warranty terms.

We do not facilitate warranty returns, exchanges, or repairs, but we can point you toward the right resources.

How to Request a Return

If your item qualifies for return, contact us at support@austereoutfitters.com before shipping anything back. We’ll provide instructions and, if applicable, a return authorization. Items returned without prior authorization may be refused or delayed.
